STEP/IGES of the part is ideal. Dimensioned PDF/DXF drawings, or photos with a ruler in frame, also work.

Weight & fragility

Part weight plus any fragility notes (calibration, optics, finished surfaces) drive density and shell selection.

The journey

Courier, pallet freight, service van or a weekly closed loop — handling risk decides the construction.

Quantities & timing

Prototype quantity, first-run quantity and your target date — rough figures are fine at this stage.
